Preconstruction Manager – Confidential General Contractor Location: Madison, WI Compensation: Competitive base bonus | Full benefits package A well-established general contractor is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to support large-scale industrial and manufacturing projects ranging from $100M–$200M . This is a confidential search being conducted by a third-party recruiter. Responsibilities: Lead preconstruction efforts on complex, large-scale manufacturing and industrial projects Coordinate and manage estimating processes from conceptual budgeting through final proposal Develop detailed project estimates including take-offs, cost analysis, value engineering, and risk assessment Collaborate closely with design teams, engineers, and operations during the design-build process Work directly with project stakeholders, owners, and subcontractors to clarify scope, constructability, and cost impacts Provide accurate, detailed deliverables for executive review and client presentation Requirements: 7 years of experience in commercial construction estimating or preconstruction roles Proven background in design-build project delivery , preferably in manufacturing or industrial sectors Demonstrated experience with large-scale projects in the $100M–$200M range Strong understanding of construction systems, materials, and cost trends Ability to lead and coordinate preconstruction teams Proficiency with estimating software platforms and Excel Excellent communication and presentation skills This company offers a strong pipeline of projects, a people-first culture, and opportunities to move into senior superintendent roles.
