Certifications: TBD Must-Have: Ability to work collaboratively in a
team setting. Description: Building site, bell schedule, and
caseload will be determined during the interview at the preference
of the candidate. Prevention responsibilities include consultation,
in-service training, and speaking with parents and parent groups.
Identification responsibilities include pre-referral (student
support teams), screenings, and referrals for the evaluation
process. Assessment responsibilities may include data collection
through standardized or non-standardized measures, interpretation,
report writing, sharing results with parents and staff, determining
eligibility for services, and developing IEPs. Intervention
responsibilities can include caseload management (scheduling),
direct remediation within the educational setting, pull-out
services, consulting on academic and social issues, developing
ongoing goals, documenting progress, collaborating with classroom
teachers, and holding annual review meetings. Completing caseload
records for special education funding is required. Maintaining
student IEPs and evaluations on a web-based computer program is
necessary. The ability to work in noisy and crowded environments is
essential. Positions may involve indoor or outdoor work in a busy
school environment. Candidates should be prepared to frequently
work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions. Public contact
requires appropriate business-like attire.
