The Assembly Project Designer is responsible for designing,
modeling, and supporting complex assemblies from concept through
production and installation. This role serves as a technical bridge
between customers, suppliers, and internal production teams,
ensuring designs are accurate, manufacturable, and aligned with
customer specifications, quality standards, and operational
efficiency. Key Responsibilities Create and review technical
drawings to ensure compliance with customer specifications,
internal standards, and manufacturing capabilities. Develop and
maintain job travelers to support accurate and efficient production
execution. Perform tolerance analysis on critical assemblies to
ensure proper fit, function, and performance. Collaborate with
suppliers, customers, and internal project stakeholders to review
designs and implement changes as needed. Modify and refine designs
to correct operating, quality, or production issues. Provide
installation support as required to ensure successful
implementation of designed assemblies. Attend team and project
meetings to provide progress updates, review project timelines,
strategize next steps, and stay informed on emerging product lines.
Ensure required inserts and related components are ordered by end
of day (EOD) to support production schedules. Review bin inventory
status by end of day (EOD) and communicate needs to prevent
production delays. Model new parts in accordance with customer
prints and engineering requirements. Uphold JR Metal Works quality
standards, documentation requirements, and continuous improvement
initiatives. Qualifications & Skills Proficiency in SolidWorks
software and technical drawing creation. Strong understanding of
manufacturing processes, tolerancing, and assembly design. Ability
to interpret customer prints, specifications, and design
requirements. Effective communication skills with customers,
suppliers, and cross-functional internal teams. Demonstrated
problem-solving ability and attention to detail. Ability to manage
multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing
