Job DetailsJob Location: Skokie, ILPosition Type: Part TimeSalary Range: $18.03 - $20.00 HourlyDescriptionSkokie's PLACE for All Children in Extended care (SPACE) is a childcare program in cooperation with Skokie School Districts 68, 69, 72, 73, and 73.5, operating at various school locations. We currently have school site Director openings for the 2023/2024 school year. Part-time staff receive benefits including a free membership to Fitness First and other facility usage perks.DutiesThe SPACE Site Director, under the guidance of the Program Manager, is responsible for planning, organizing, managing, and supervising a comprehensive before and/or after-school recreational childcare program. Responsibilities include supervising staff, planning activities, ensuring participant safety, maintaining paperwork and records, communicating with parents, and managing supplies. The director will also lead children in various activities, conduct staff meetings, and attend meetings and trainings as needed. Additional duties include staff training and evaluation, inventory management, and maintaining communication with the Program Manager.HoursShifts are available Monday through Friday when school is in session:

• Before school: 6:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
• After school: 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., or 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on early dismissal days.Bonuses
  • $100 for referring a friend (current employees only, with stipulations)
  • $500 good-standing bonus ($250 paid in December and June, contingent on meeting conditions)QualificationsApplicants should be responsible, energetic adults with strong communication and leadership skills. Experience leading children in recreational or educational settings is preferred, along with supervisory experience. A High School diploma or GED is required, with a preference for candidates with college credits in Education, Social Work, or Child Development. CPR and AED certifications are required and can be obtained through district training. The position falls within paygrade PT6, with a target range of $18.03 - $20.00 depending on experience.
