ABOUT WELLS: Wells was founded in 1951, acquired Spancrete's
holdings in 2021. Wells is a leader in the manufacture of pre-cast
concrete products throughout the Midwest. From larger-scale,
pre-stressed structural and architectural pieces and insulated wall
panels to unique vapor barrier systems and ready-mix solutions.
Wells' pre-cast, pre-stressed concrete products are used in
commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential projects.
Some well-known architecture that has used Wells products include;
Augsburg University and 4Marq Apartments (Minneapolis), 16 Chestnut
and 6th and Santa Fe (Denver), Miller Park and Fiserv Forum
(Milwaukee).GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The purpose of this position is to
carry out day-to-day operations of the EH&S department. The
position actively assists in reducing employee and operational
exposure to environmental, health and safety risks. The incumbent
uses a variety of tools, techniques, and data collection methods to
analyze trends and make recommendations for corrective action. This
position provides support to Wells' Corporate-wide environmental,
health and safety program inclusive of all locations, facilities,
and job sites.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESSpends 40% to
50% of the workday visiting the shop floor or job sites.Effectively
collaborates with company leaders and employees to enhance Wells'
Safety Culture.Assists in administration of Wells' Safety
Compliance Program.Conducts weekly compliance audits and generates
written documentation that supports findings and corrective action
recommendations.Performs incident investigations and coordinates
post-accident activities and corrective action measures, actively
seeking ways to identify safer processes and reduce losses.Files
and assists with the management of Workers Compensation claims and
maintains accurate records.Assists with and supports maintenance of
all EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) records.Helps with
monthly safety performance reporting.Performs claims and injury
analysis as needed.Supports the Safety Committee.Assists with
training and tracking of training as required.Actively seek to
learn new skills and progress in level of knowledge and
responsibility.EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREDTwo or more
years EH&S experience, and, at minimum, an associate degree in
health & safety. (Bachelor's degree in occupational health and
safety science preferred.)Exhibits a passion for keeping people
safe.Learns quickly, is approachable and competent at building
relationships.Possesses the ability to educate, coach, and mentor
people in a kind and caring manner.Conveys excellent interpersonal
skills and the ability to interact with diverse groups of
people.Understands federal, state, and municipal EHS
regulations.Proficient in using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and
PowerPoint.Able to work flexible hours / shifts and overnight
travel up to 10% of the year.Must be self-motivated and able to
work independently, with minimal direction.Must have excellent
verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate
sensitive or complex information effectively.Must have excellent
reasoning and organizational skills with strong attention to
detail.Can troubleshoot and make sound decisions in urgent
situations.Possesses the ability to maintain focus, objectivity,
and composure in a rapidly changing work environment.Lead and
develop the safety culture of the Wells organization.PHYSICAL
