Critical Care Float Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift:
12 hours (07:00 - 19:30) Experience: Must have experience with
multiple ICU units (Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic, Burn ICU, Trauma
Surgery, etc). ICU experience with adult populations is required.
Must have completed two years of acute care experience within the
last three years. License: Must have an active nursing license.
Certifications: BLS and ACLS must be certified through the American
Heart Association. Basic Arrhythmia experience required for
telemetry. Must-Have: Traveler must have experience in an academic
level 1 trauma center. Successfully completed previous travel
assignments. Must be willing to work with IMC/Progressive/General
care populations as needed. Traveler may have shifts scheduled in
multiple units, depending on current staffing needs. Description:
We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) who would like to be part of
a Magnet certified hospital and Level 1 trauma center. The role
offers an opportunity to grow in an academic learning environment.
This position supports and engages in shared governance. Travelers
will be the first to float when there are staffing needs. Scheduled
shifts may vary between multiple units, depending on the current
needs. If the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be
re-assigned to another unit to complete the contract. Travelers
will orient at the designated location, following instructions in
the welcome letter. Orientation typically lasts about one week and
includes 20 hours of non-billable orientation. A telemetry exam
will be required prior to starting in the role, with strict passing
criteria. Competency renewal for telemetry must remain active
throughout the assignment.
