This group is responsible for business analysis, delivery and management of the underlying technologies when great vendor software solutions are procured for the organization's purpose. Successful members of the team are highly accountable team players with solid technical skills who strive to deliver the best web/mobile customer experience possible.Develops and maintains full stack solutions to fit business needs. Full stack solutions require one or more of the following: front-end (user interfaces), back-end (APIs), database and devops development. Works directly with business partners to understand business requirements. Independently innovates on and advocates for best practices within the team, and collaborates on them across the enterprise. Carries a holistic view of all products and their interactions to design complex solutions and plan for how new projects will fit into the larger ecosystem. Solves complex technical problems. Guides team in implementation of solutions from inception to production.As a Software Engineer on the team, you will help lead Discover's Marketing Technology strategy by:

• Providing the technical expertise to identify, adapt, implement and adopt vendor software for its most efficient and effective use to accelerate customer acquisition and enrich customer experience across the web/mobile landscape.
• Using Agile development methodologies to deliver new or support existing product features that compliment/improve our marketing technology stack.
• Applying hands-on technical skills to improve solution delivery through continuous integration, development, and testing utilizing approved technology solutions.
• Promoting a risk-aware culture, ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.Responsibilities
  • Develops and maintains complex front-ends with a focus on user experience
  • Develops and maintains backend systems
  • Uses holistic knowledge of all products in and adjacent to the team's ecosystem to plan how new systems will be built and integrated; finds new ways to bring value to the company through the use of technology
  • Innovates on and advocates for best practices and improved processes within the team and with internal partners; stays up to date with technology trends and innovations; mentors team members
  • Creates and maintains devops processes, application infrastructure, and utilizes cloud services (including database systems and models)
  • Supports live systems to ensure business continuityCandidates should be flexible / willing to work across a delivery landscape which includes Agile Application Development, Support and Deployment.Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology
    • 10 years in Computer Science, Information Technology or Equivalent Experience
    • In lieu of degree, 12 + years in Computer Science, Information Technology or Equivalent ExperienceDesired Skills:
      • Fullstack Academy, General Assembly or comparable programs may adequately supplement a non-CS bachelor's degree
      • Expertise with current digital marketing trends and best practices on topics such as personalization, cross channel marketing, mobile, data driven optimization of experiences.
      • Experience with Adobe Experience Cloud (Analytics, Experience Manager, Target).
      • Experience evaluating and managing vendor software offerings.
      • Experience developing solutions using integration technology and approaches such as API/REST Services.
      • Understanding of Cloud technologies.
      • Understanding of custom software development processes and engagement methodologies including Agile, Scrum and waterfall.
      • Strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills.
      • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to identify issues, solve them quickly and well.
      • Exceptional team building and leadership skills; the ability to provide technical mentorship to others.
      • Ability to manage in an environment of ambiguity with diverse stakeholders.
      • Vendor platform solutions for Content Mgmt/Delivery, Multi-variate testing/Personalization, Analytics, etc.
      • Modern web-development frameworks (Angular, React, Foundation, Bootstrap, jQuery)
      • HTML, CSS, DOM, XML, JavaScript, AJAX, JSON
      • Web browser & Cross device compatibility design
      • Core Java, J2EE, APIs, Microservices
      • Spring frameworks, Spring Boot
      • SOAP & REST design best practice
      • Data/Cache Technologies: Oracle, Maria, Gemfire, MongoDB, Redis
      • CI/CD with Jenkins or similar, Chef, Git/GitHub, Gradle, Nexus, SonarQube
      • Cloud/PaaS Architectures: Cloud Foundry(PCF), AWS
