Description Job Title: AY Pump Shaft & Shell Machining Department:
CNC Machine Shop SUMMARY Sets up and operates numerical control
machine to cut, shape, or form metal work pieces to specifications
by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. - Maintains reliable
attendance and adheres to set work schedules as outlined in the
BAKER EMPLOYMENT POLICY manual - Reviews setup sheet and
specifications to determine setup procedure, machining sequence,
and dimensions of finished work piece. - Attaches fixture to
machine bed and positions and secures work piece in fixture
according to setup instructions. - Assembles cutting tools in tool
holders and positions tool holders in machine spindles as specified
or inserts cutting tools in specified machine magazines. - Enters
commands to retrieve pre-programmed machine instructions for
database. - Manipulates controls and enters commands to index
cutting tool to specified set point and to start machine. -
Observes and listens to machine operation to detect malfunctions
such as worn or damaged cutting tools. - Changes cutting tools and
location of work piece during machining process as specified in
setup instructions. - Measures work piece for conformance to
specifications. - Diagnoses machine discrepancies and takes
corrective action by making offset adjustments or changing worn
tooling. - Notifies supervisor of discrepancies - Maintains and
records accurate count of work pieces produced and personal hourly
attendance data. - Practices safe work habits, maintains workplace
in good order, and wears all issued personal protective equipment
in the workplace. - Other duties may be assigned. SUPERVISORY
RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must

functions. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High school diploma or
general education degree (GED); or six months to one-year related
experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education
and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret
documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine
reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before
employees of organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add,
subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole
numbers, common fractions, and decimals, perform metric to inch
conversions. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to
draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply
common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in
written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems
involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Possesses or is able to
acquire a valid forklift driver’s license. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The

AWARENESS AND TRAINING Competence, awareness, and training for
probationary employees will be assessed by the “New Employee
Checklist,” and the evaluations conducted and 30, 60, and 90 days,
along with other training as needed. Competence, awareness, and
training for regular employees will be assessed when annual
evaluations are conducted, along with other measurements in
accordance with the area the employee is assigned to. 6am-3:30pm
Overtime may be required Compensation details: 21-24 Hourly Wage
