As a leader in the human services sector for 140 years, we aim to advance the well-being of children by investing in families and strengthening communities through data-informed, collaborative, and preventative solutions.The Parent Partner is an individual who has overcome the obstacles and barriers of the child welfare system and effectively reunited with their child/children through hard work and dedication and now strives to help others facing the same trials. As a Parent Partner, you will be there to help support, mentor, and advocate for families working towards reunification as you successfully did by encouraging and promoting opportunities for shared parenting between birth and foster parents which may include sharing meals together, celebrating holidays together, attending school activities, and more. You will also coach birth parents in working closely with foster parents to encourage shared parenting, attend meetings with birth parents to identify the need for additional support, teach birth parents how to advocate, problem-solve, and accomplish goals, as well as navigate the child welfare system.Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Lived experience as a parent involved in the child welfare system required.
- Case closure for a minimum duration of three years required.
- Ability to speak English and Spanish preferred.
- Basic knowledge of child development and parent-child
relationships preferred.Job Details:
- Compensation: Hourly: Range is between $17.00-$19.00/hour, offers are commensurate with experience. Bilingual candidates may receive additional financial compensation.
- Benefits: Medical/dental/vision insurance, 3+ weeks paid time off in the first year including the week between Christmas and New Year's Day (PTO increases with tenure); 11 paid holidays, supplemental insurance options, 401(k) with match.
- Schedule: Full-time, hourly; general business hours with some
flexibility required for occasional evening and weekend
