Job Description:

Summary:This role performs visual, mechanical, electrical and functional inspection and test as specified and or required on materials, component parts, sub-assemblies and finished products.--Collects, analyzes and evaluates information and statistical data supporting the Quality Manager to determine the acceptance status, maintain and improve the quality and reliability of Autotrol processes, products and services by performing the following duties:--Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:Follows blueprint specifications, engineering specifications (ES), visual aids, procedures and work instructions to determine conformance or non-conformance of product, and take action accordingly.--Performs the Receiving Inspection process for all components and materials.--Performs the Finished Product First Piece Inspection process for all Finished Goods.--Performs the Dock Audit Inspection process for all Finished Goods.--Performs Layout Inspection for the assessment of new or changed tooling, components, and Products.--Authors APQP documents and supports the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).--Maintain controlled documents and records of activities related to quality processes related to materials, component parts, sub-assemblies and finished products.--Complete Discrepant Material Report forms (DMR). Identify, quarantine, and disposition non-conforming materials as needed.--Supervise and coordinate the purging of discrepant materials by dept.--Executes and maintains the Gage Calibration System (spreadsheet), Calibrates gages, and conducts measurement system capability analysis (gage R&R).--Use and supports Production's use of pre-control charts and standard Xbar-R, Xbar-movingR and other types of SPC.--Conducts process capability studies and process potential studies.--Assist in the creation of work instructions and forms.--Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.--Supports product inspection and or audit at various points in the production process(s) as required.--Authors, edits and revises Quality Management System (QMS) procedures, work instructions and forms.--Conduct training regarding measurement and QMS processes, procedures, work instructions and forms.--Collects and analyzes data, author and publish findings and results.--Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards (ECR, eng. chg. req.) to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability and or improve processes.--Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts or products to measure performance, life or material characteristics as specified.--Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis.--Support the design and construction special mechanical, electrical, electronic and electro-mechanical test equipment. Simple circuit design, PC or PLC experience a plus.--Maintains the documentation of activities related to testing and acceptance or rejection of materials, component parts, sub-assemblies and finished product, especially regarding design revisions (creates and revises APQP documents including Control Plans/History Cards/Inspection forms.--Other duties, as assigned.--Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.--QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.--DependabilityFollows directions and responds to management direction.--Education and/or ExperienceAssociate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.--Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.--Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.--Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees or organization.--Mathematical SkillsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as: unit conversions, fractional and decimal calculations, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume, mean, range, standard deviation.--Ability to apply concepts of arithmetic, basic algebra and geometry.--Reasoning ResponsibilitiesAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.--Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.--Computer SkillsTo perform this job successfully, and individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software.--Other Skills and AbilitiesBlueprint ReadingGeometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)Gear InspectionUse of Inspection Tools: Micrometer, Super-Micrometer, Caliper, Gage Pins, Gage Blocks, Optical Comparator, 2-D Video Inspection, Surface Plate skillsMicrosoft Office (esp.
