SUMMARY: (Summary description of the primary duties and objectives of the position.) The Recovery Hub Associate works directly with people who have mental health conditions to support them in a drop-in center that runs 7 days a week. The employee will work on enhancing coping skills, activities of daily living, and accessing community. The Recovery Hub Associate will provide support to people with mental illness, advocate for clients, and provide person-centered, recovery focused, strengths-based, trauma-informed support. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Create a welcoming, accepting environment and support people with mental health maintenance according to individual needs and goals. Encourage the development of friendships, positive interactions, and leisure activities. Respond to medical and behavioral / psychiatric crisis in accordance with agency policy and procedure. This includes all related documentation. Provide effective recovery-based services and assist clients to obtain services suited to their recovery needs. This includes running groups, activities and meetings with clients 1:1. Provide emergency assistance/program coverage during scheduled hours, including at other MH sites as required. Work as part of a team with other staff to provide required services for clients. Develop and implement group mental health services and activities. Promote consumer driven mental health services and enhance the abilities of clients to make choices. Assist clients to advocate for themselves and engage in stigma busting. Communicate effectively and professionally with all stakeholders. Address concerns and issues related to clients and program services. Share information concerning clients with other employees’ as relevant within confidentiality rules. Adhere to all agency safety policies and procedures. Maintain flexibility while performing duties. This may include the need to travel off-site or to rearrange the scheduling of breaks and lunch to meet the immediate needs of the program. Maintain a professional demeanor in both manner and attire as a representative of the agency in conducting all activities, services, and instructions. Assist clients with education and support regarding all activities of daily living, hygiene and physical plant cleanliness as needed. Support a healthy environment by keeping the physical plant up to agency cleanliness and sanitary standards. Complete all competency-based training as required. Model and consistently practice support, interacting with clients to develop mutually responsible relationships, avoiding the “helper/helpee” dynamic. Utilize structures for the inclusion of member voice into group and events planning, as well as day-to-day activities. As member’s needs change, think creatively about support depending on who is in the services that day. Work with all clients in the program, no set caseloads. REQUIREMENTS: (Competencies, skills, abilities, experience, education necessary.) Minimum RSA (21 years old minimum, high school education and demonstrated service skills), Mental Health Professional per Rule 132 or Certified Recovery Support Specialist preferred 6 months experience professionally collaborating with people who are diagnosed with mental illness. Must have the physical capacity to lift and transfer program materials. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
